1976 Seventh Grade
By this time we knew well that we were not the
school's favorite class. To tame us the school hired former U.S. Marine
Peter Waas as the middle School head. But we really did not care as a
perfect scapegoat for anything we did manifested itself in the being of John
Meghrian.
Unfortunately, we could not really assert ourselves as
we were not the biggest kids in the Middle School, but we made our potential
known. The Webmaster did his part by learning how Super-glued pencils and
chalk really irked some teachers.

(Left) Coach Hank Gamble's Bears, schooled the Sam Barthe teams in
the Jamboree behind the scampering of 8th-grader Jeff Farber. A
few weeks later, against the Barthe Vikings (Mike Whitsell's team), we
learned what "keying" on someone meant, as the Vikings shut down Farber
in the team's only loss. The Bears and the Vikings tied with 4-1
league records. (Right) Coach Al Trevino and senior Buddy Spell
coached the Dolphins - but as the Webmaster was a Bear, note on their
season are unknown to him. |
